Lasalle Cleaners was founded in 1930 by Jack and Ida Resnick in downtown Toledo. The original store was opened on the southeast corner of Jefferson and 10th Street. In the late 1940s they moved across the street to a larger building with a drive-thru for easier access for their customers. In the late 1980s Cindy Hill, granddaughter of Jack and Ida, bought the business, which she later sold to Gary and Rachael Resnick in 1992. Gary and Rachael have since expanded the store twice, adding on an additional six thousand square feet. The extra space was needed to handle the increased business generated by the four new locations in key areas of the Toledo suburbs and the growth of their pickup and delivery routes.
Currently, the stores are being operated by Gary and Rachael’s son Nate and his wife Brittaney and daughter Sarah and her husband Tim. They are slated to become the next generation owners of the growing enterprise.
